1. Objective. TheAir Force Self-Inspection program assesses compliance with federallaws, regulatory policies, DoD and AF directives, and instructionsacross the enterprise. It is also used to verify adequacy ofcontract preparation.
2. Self-InspectionProgram. SCOs will manage a self-inspection program, whichincludes both the assessment of individual contract files and theassessment of contracting management programs contained in theContracting Self-Assessment Communicator (SAC) as required by AFI90-201, The Air Force Inspection System. As a minimum, contracting offices must perform self-inspections ofindividual contract files on an annual basis.
For self-inspection ofindividual contract files reviewed after award, SCOs may usethe AirForce Contracting Self-Inspection Checklist; a comparableorganizational checklist for post award reviews; or any combinationthereof.
SCOs will ensure correctiveactions are implemented as a result of any self-inspection. Contracting offices must have a documented program forself-inspection, to include a process for closing resolved findingsin a timely manner, ensuring an effective level of review necessaryto close a finding, and integrating findings and resolutions intounit training.
